NWB Bank: Appointment of CFO and Supervisory Board Member during AGM

The Hague, April 17 2026

During the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 16 April, Tijs Wolffenbuttel has been appointed as the new CFO and member of the Managing Board of NWB Bank. Stefan Kuks has been appointed as a new member of the Supervisory Board. He succeeds Toon van der Klugt, who is stepping down after reaching the maximum term of office.

During the AGM, Lidwin van Velden (CEO) and Ard van Eijl (CRO) were re-elected for terms of one and four years, respectively. Although Lidwin van Velden has reached the maximum term of office, she has been asked to remain in post for a short period to ensure continuity within the Managing Board of NWB Bank.

Joanne Kellermann, chair of the Supervisory Board of NWB Bank, said: ‘The Supervisory Board is delighted that, with the appointments of these two outstanding candidates, the Managing and Supervisory Boards are once again at full strength. Tijs Wolffenbuttel (1977) brings 24 years of banking experience to the role, with a strong track record in financial and operational audit, governance and digitalisation. He has held various roles at a range of financial institutions and has gained extensive senior management experience within an institution supervised by the European Central Bank. Tijs studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Twente and holds a postgraduate degree in IT audit from TIAS Business School. 

Stefan Kuks (1961) is chair of the Vechtstromen Water Authority and has over 30 years of administrative experience within water authorities. He has in-depth knowledge of water management and the challenges facing water authorities. He is also a professor of Water Governance at the University of Twente.
