WSW celebrates milestone of €100 billion in guaranteed outstanding debt

Last Friday, a festive gathering took place in Kerkrade to mark a remarkable milestone: this autumn, the Social Housing Guarantee Fund (WSW) reached a total of €100 billion in guaranteed outstanding debt. In the 42 years since WSW was founded, this is the highest amount ever recorded. It reflects the commitment of participating housing associations to addressing the challenges of public housing. This achievement symbolizes the strength and continuity of the social rental sector in the Netherlands.

A loan to HEEMwonen housing assocation, based in Kerkrade, is the loan that led to surpassing the 100 billion mark. The loan associated with this achievement will be used for both new construction projects and improvements to existing housing stock. In doing so, the association continues to invest in affordable and high-quality housing for its tenants.

As a long-standing and reliable partner to the sector, we are proud of this milestone. We remain ready to support housing associations in facing future challenges with appropriate and cost-effective financing solutions.

Congratulations to WSW and all involved partners on reaching this impressive milestone!
